Nitin is a Chemical Engineer from IIT Bombay famous for creating a Cult Play 'Love In December'.
Fresh out of Campus, he got an offer to perform on Laughter Challenge, the opportunity which he later turned down! The reason is a simple mission .He founded Entertainment Engineers , to make Stand Up Comedy respectable in India and to create a humor Renaissance in this country. Humor he says, ought to have an emotionality to it. We not only want people to laugh and think, we want them to LAUGH, THINK and FEEL at the same time. T.V. was not the medium to do that. So Nitin took to the Stage, College Festivals, Corporate Shows. And in a short span he has already enthralled the Audiences in some of the Biggest College Festivals in India, IITs, NITs, IIMs their Alumini Meets and various FORTUNE 500 Companies.
A Guest Speaker at various E- Cell Platforms and Marketing Conclaves. A TED Favorite. He is widely considered as the most Original Orators and Stand Up Comic of Present times.

Kavi Sammelan

Kaviyon or choron ki gati ek samaan
Loote hai dil kavi to chor loote hai makaan

Kavi Sammelan (Hindi: कवि सम्मलेन) is a formal or informal gathering of poets in Hindi-speaking belts of northern India. The participants recite their poetry to each other and have a general discussion of literary issues. This may take place in private homes or before an audience.Earlier, Kavi-Sammelans were organized by social and cultural groups. But these days, the Kavi-Sammelans are very much popular among Universities, Colleges and Even corporate. Most of the Kavi-Sammelans organized in colleges and corporates do comprise of a small team of 3-4 poets, and this is the most prevalent tradition now-a-days.
The students of BIT MESRA have not only organized but also performed in Kavi Sammelans some of the lines which have really become famous among students like -

PLAY

JAB SHEHAR HAMARA SOTA HAI
The play “JAB SHEHAR HAMARA SOTA HAI” is based on the Broadway musical 1961classic which won 10 ACADEMY AWARDS. It is written by well known theatre actor, music director and lyricist PIYUSH MISHRA, who has written, composed and sung the songs of the film GULAAL ,some of which are part of the play. The theme of the play is based on William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet,which is a world famous love story, based on which the Bollywood movie JOSH was made starring Sharukh khan and Aishwarya rai. It is a typical masala Bollywood movie like play having action, drama, romance, tragedy depicted by songs and dance.
The play is directed by National School of Drama's trained artist and was staged in SPRING FEST IIT KHARAGPUR where it was highly appreciated and won Best Actor and Actress Award given by MAKRAND DESHPANDE who is a well known artist of the PRITHVI THEATRE who also has acted in films like SWADES.

MIME

Sometimes silence speaks louder than words
Mime has been performed onstage, with Marcel Marceau and his character "Bip" being the most famous. Mime is also a popular art form in street theatre and busking. Traditionally, these sorts of performances involve the actor/actress wearing tight black and white clothing with white facial makeup. However, contemporary mimes often perform without whiteface. Similarly, while traditional mimes have been completely silent, contemporary mimes, while refraining from speaking, sometimes employ vocal sounds when they perform. Mime acts are often comical, but some can be very serious.
The tradition of mime has been started by a fourth year student who has performed different mimes in the college and he has taken mime to such heights that our juniors have won First Prize in SPRINGFEST IIT KHARAGPUR.

Scribe Band

The original 2009 line-up consisted of Niraj (Pin Drop Violence, Chaos Theory), Srinivas Sunderrajan (Chaos Theory), Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy (Split), Prashant Shah (Exhumation) and Ninad Singh (Deadsky) - the youngest as he was just in class 5 when he joined the band. This line-up released its first EP, Have Hard, Will Core, on Demonstealer Records, creating waves among Indian metal fans and helping to build the band's fanbase. Soon after this, Akshay (Skincold) joined the band to add to the eclectic soundscape.
A video released for the song "One Wing Pencil" from the EP generated publicity for the band which earned it a place on the Segarams Great Indian Rock Tour, opening for Freak Kitchen, Sahg and Satyricon. It also played shows at ESP Explosion and Independence Rock, winning the nationwide tour and competitions 2007 title. The band continued to play shows in cities like Delhi, Shillong, Guwhati, Pune and Bangalore well into 2008.
The band's first album, Confect, was released independently in 2008. The band had decided not to commercialize the album, which was subsequently distributed free of cost to audience members at shows, and is available for digital download via the band's web page. Confect was placed fifth on Rolling Stone magazine's list of Top Ten Indian Albums in 2008. A similar list by RockStreet placed the album second. This was followed by a video for the song "Analyze That". The band continues to play the Indian metal circuit with appearances at events like MySpace Secret Shows, opening for Motherjane.
The album Mark of Teja (2010) was named the Best Metal Album at various award ceremonies.
In 2010, Scribe played at the Inferno Festival in Norway.

Jal - The Band

Jal is a pop rock band from Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. Jal is a Sanskrit word which means water, in some cases Jal meaning in Sanskrit is Pure or Divine Water. The band originally consisted of song writer, vocalist and lead guitarist, Goher Mumtaz and vocalist, Atif Aslam. Founded in 2002, they first became popular playing in Lahore's underground music scene with the release of their song "Aadat", which was a massive hit in Pakistan topping all local music charts.
The band initially achieved critical and commercial success with the release of their music video "Aadat", directed by Umer Anwar, in 2003. After the success of the single, lead vocalist, Atif Aslam due to musical differences with lead guitarist Goher Mumtaz, parted ways with the band to pursue a career as a solo artist. This led Mumtaz recruit musicians Farhan Saeed on vocals and Aamir Sheraz on bass guitar.The band's new lineup followed with the release of their debut studio album, Aadat, in 2004. The album was declared as the best selling album of 2004 on Geo TV by the record label Sadaf Stereo. Soon after wards, the band recorded and released their second studio album Boondh in 2007, which topped several music charts in South Asia. The success of both the albums has led the band to achieve several awards, most notably winning the MTV Asia Award for Favorite Artist India in 2006. Jal are currently working on their third studio album which is expected to be released in march 2012 in both Pakistan and India.
Jal are one of the most commercially successful and influential rock music groups of all time in Pakistan. Also, the band is well known for being one of the few contemporary Pakistani music bands to have fused Urdu musical vocals with modern pop music.
